What Kind of TV Viewer Are You?
Sure, people spend hours watching YouTube videos or even TV shows and movies online these days, but for me, there’s still nothing quite like relaxing in my recliner in front of my big HDTV screen. Do they even make a computer monitor that’s 51 inches? Perhaps, but it sure would take up a lot of room on your desk and probably cost a fortune!
As a DISH Network DVR customer, I use my DVR to manage my TV viewing quite effectively. I basically tell it which programs I like, and it records them for me without me having to worry about it. When I feel like watching TV, I fire up my DVR, and my favorite programs are there waiting for me. I’ve actually reached the point where I can barely tolerate watching commercials, since I am so accustomed to zapping through them with my DVR.
There are a wide variety of DISH Network packages and programming to choose from that will please just about any viewer.
The contrast between what I watch on television and what my wife watches really demonstrates how different each person’s idea of entertainment can be.
She tends to like movies on the Lifetime channel as well as a couple of soap operas on the SOAP channel. There are a few programs we both enjoy like some of the shows on the Discovery ID channel as well as American Idol.
Other than that, I tend to be a documentary and reality TV kind of viewer. I probably spend most of my viewing time on channels like The History Channel, The Discovery Channel, The National Geographic Channel, The Military Channel and A & E. You may be getting the idea that when I say “reality” programs, I am not talking about Survivor or Big Brother. In fact, I can’t stand those kinds of programs, and am more interested in the genuine reality you see on programs like Border Wars, Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force, Myth Busters or Dirty Jobs.
In some ways I’m a pretty typical guy when it comes to TV viewing preferences. I lean heavily towards action/adventure or anything that involves shootings, car chases or things blowing up.
I don’t watch many network programs but I do like movies. Fortunately, my DISH Network subscription gives me pretty much any programming I desire.
