While speaking on the inaugural ceremony, the General Manager of BT Openzone said that people travelling for work or for a holiday could access the internet and remain in touch with this service. The aim of BT is to ensure that people get access to information whenever they need it. Therefore, they are making wireless broadband internet available in all possible places.
This service provided by BT Openzone service is free for all broadband customers with BT FON WiFi minutes, BT Openzone and O2 iPhone and those mobile owners who have the connection. All other users have to subscribe to the BT Openzone wireless service by buying the Openzone vouchers that are sold over the BT website.
The connection is a wireless one and any wireless supported device can access it. You can also use Voice over Internet Protocol in these lounges. According to BT, its prices are much lower than the international roaming rates of the European Union and its international browsing service can be accessed at the rate of 12p per MB. Thus, BT seems to be a much cheaper option than other available alternatives.
