Beyond Takeoff
Intelius is an award-winning company just taking off. Consistently, it has ranked on Inc. Magazine’s esteemed list of America’s fastest-growing private firms.
Its founder, Naveen Jain, has long gone past takeoff, however. Having proven himself an adroit entrepreneur since 1996, Naveen Jain is in fact now on his second business.
America’s information industry indeed provided room for Naveen Jain’s self-employment, starting with InfoSpace and now with Intelius. He built Intelius in January 2003, InfoSpace in 1996.
Intelius got the award for Best New Company in the 2006 Stevie Awards. It was also a nominee for Most Innovative Company in the 2007 awards. According to the New York Post, the Stevies are the Oscars in business.
Intelius might match the success of InfoSpace, which was decidedly a public firm. As a private firm, Intelius has grown so fast; Deloitte & Touche and the Puget Sound Business Journal are in agreement. In addition, it ranked on Washington CEO Magazine’s list of the Top 150 Private Companies.
Intelius.com is one of the highest-trafficked sites in comScore’s media metrics. As a physical company, Intelius is among Washington’s Top Three Best Workplaces, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. It even placed as a finalist to Washington CEO’s Best Companies to Work For list.
As per Forbes records, Naveen Jain was one of the 400 Richest Americans, with an all-time net worth of over $2 billion. He was also part of Fortune Magazine’s “40 Richest Under 40″ list.
From Uttar Pradesh, India, Naveen Jain took his chances at a better life in the United States. Educated with a degree in engineering and a post-graduate diploma, he accepted positions at various IT companies in the country, before coming up with his own business.
Undoubtedly, the India-born entrepreneur is still above ground.
