What Is An Abdominal Sling?

New equipment for abdominal workouts is always exciting. Everyone wants those amazing six pack abs and then advent of something new that promises to help along the way is good news. First, let me remind you that ab exercise alone won’t get you the washboard abs of your dreams. You have to lose body fat. You can do all the cool ab exercises with all the fancy equipment, but if your ripped ab muscles are covered by a layer of fat, you will never have a six pack! That being said, the abdominal sling sounds like a good advancement in abdominal exercise workouts.
Basically, a sling is a safer and more comfortable way to perform leg raises. Leg raises are one of the most effective ab exercises, but prior to the abdominal sling they were difficult to do and often lead to injury. The sling hangs from a rod that is attached to the ceiling. It is designed for you to put your arms through the loops so that you can be suspended in the air and lift your legs to work our abs. Before the sling, these exercises were done by balancing on a bar, which is more difficult on the body.
